Battlefield sits on Springfield’s southwest edge, named for the Wilson’s Creek battlefield just down the road, and it stays quiet with the city a few minutes away. A lot of the work here happens in home offices and spare bedrooms. Consultants, designers, one-person trades, and folks who see clients in Springfield all day and do their own paperwork at night.
I’m Diane Jones, a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor in Ash Grove. That paperwork is what I take off people’s plates.
Bookkeeping built for a business of one
When the business is just you, the books slide to the bottom of the list. Business and personal spending end up tangled in the same checking account. It happens. My self-employed bookkeeping is sized for exactly that. I separate business from personal, categorize every transaction, reconcile the accounts, and send you reports by mid-month that show what you actually earned. At tax time your CPA gets a clean file instead of a shoebox, because I keep the books tax-ready all year. Your CPA files the return from that file. If you don’t have a CPA yet, I work alongside several firms and I’ll introduce you.
How this works from Battlefield
Most of it runs through QuickBooks Online and Zoom, the same way I work with clients in other states, so you never have to leave Battlefield to have a bookkeeper. We start with a free 30-minute call, looking at your QuickBooks file, or at the spreadsheet you’re using instead of one. I’ll walk you through what I find in it, and you get the price in writing before I touch anything. If the books have fallen behind, rebuilding them is the part I like best, and you’ll get a plan from me, never a lecture.
A Form 990 on extension is due November 16, 2026. Your CPA needs reconciled, fund-level books to finish it, and that's the part I do.
Filed an extension for 2025? Those returns are due October 15, 2026. Your CPA needs a reconciled 2025 file before then, and the sooner I see it the more room we both have.
1099s for your subs and vendors are due February 1, 2027, and they're built from a full year of entered payments. If 2026 is behind, the last weeks of the year are the time to catch it up.
1099s for your subs and vendors are due February 1, 2027, the same day your payroll provider sends W-2s. If the 2026 books aren't entered yet, that's the first thing I'd fix.
S corporation and partnership returns are due March 15, 2027. Your CPA needs a reconciled 2026 file to file on time.
Individual returns are due April 15, 2027. A reconciled 2026 file is what your CPA needs to file, or to file the extension with real numbers.

Where Battlefield sits from my desk
Battlefield is about 35 minutes from Ash Grove, on Springfield's southwest side. Most of my work happens in QuickBooks Online and over Zoom, so the drive rarely matters. When an in-person visit helps, it’s an easy trip.
