Marionville is best known for its white squirrels. What I see is the businesses: the main-street storefronts, the orchards and ag operations, and the self-employed folks working out of shops and barns around town. Marionville’s about 25 minutes from my office in Ash Grove, southwest on Highway 60. That makes it one of the closest towns I work in.

Bookkeeping for the self-employed

A lot of Marionville’s economy is one person doing good work. That’s who my self-employed bookkeeping is built for. For a flat monthly fee, quoted in writing after a free review, I keep business and personal money separated, categorize and reconcile everything in QuickBooks Online, and send reports by mid-month that tell you plainly what you earned. In January your 1099s get prepared and e-filed. Your CPA files the return from a clean file instead of untangling your year first.

Main-street books without the drive

Storefronts have their own wrinkles. Register and card deposits to reconcile, inventory purchases, sometimes a part-time employee. Your payroll provider runs the payroll and I record and reconcile every payroll transaction. That’s all part of monthly service, and we can meet however suits you: over Zoom or by phone, the same way I work with clients in other states, or in person, since the drive is short. It starts with a free 30-minute call. You get an honest read on where they stand and the price in writing before anything else happens.

Where Marionville sits from my desk

Marionville is about 25 minutes from my office, southwest on Highway 60. Most of my work happens in QuickBooks Online and over Zoom, so the drive rarely matters. When an in-person visit helps, it’s an easy trip.

Questions

Questions from Marionville business owners

My business is small. Is monthly bookkeeping overkill?
For a lot of one-person Marionville businesses, a monthly plan sized to a small file is the right fit, and the fee is quoted in writing after a free call. If a once-a-year catch-up suits you better than monthly service, I’ll say so on that call. I’d rather size the work to the business than sell you a plan you don’t need.
Is a business my size too small for a bookkeeper?
If money comes in and goes out, the books matter. Monthly service scales down to small operations, and if that’s still more than you need, a one-time cleanup with a fixed quote is another way to work together. The call tells us which one fits.
Do you do taxes?
Your CPA files the return. I keep the books reconciled and tax-ready all year so what your CPA gets at tax time is a clean file, so the handoff stays simple. If you need a CPA, I work alongside several firms and I’ll introduce you.

The first look at your file is free and there's no obligation. If I'm not the right fit for your business, I'll tell you that too.
